Verapamil (Isoptin)

Bolus

5-10 mg ou 0.075-0.15 mg/kg i.v. in 2 min, if needed repeat after 30 min, then 0.1-0.5 mg/kg/min i.v.c.

Maintenance

120-480 mg/day p.o.

## Contra-indications

  • Hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients.
  • Cardiogenic shock.
  • Severe conduction abnormalities (2nd or 3rd degree AV block), sick sinus syndrome (bradycardia-tachycardia syndrome).
  • Heart failure with reduced ejection fraction less than 35%.
  • AF / atrial flutter in patients with an accessory pathway (eg Wolff-Parkinson-White, Lown-Ganong-Levine.).
