Ibutilide (Corvert)

Charge

If weight > 60 kg: 10 ml in 10 min.

If weight < 60 kg: 0.1 ml / kg 10 min.

Can be repeated after 10 minutes. if arrhythmia persists.

1 ml in 10 min = 1 mg

Contra-indications

  • Hypersensitivity to ibutilide fumarate or to another component.
  • Polymorphic ventricular tachycardia (eg torsades de pointes).
  • Myocardial infarction within the previous 3 months; unstable angina
  • Severe hypotension
  • Hypokalemia (< 4.0 mmol / l)
  • QT interval > 440 msec
  • Simultaneous treatment with antiarrhythmic classes Ia and III or with other substances prolonging the QT interval (eg phenothiazines, tricyclic antidepressants and tetracyclic Some H1 receptor antagonists).
