Oral anticoagulants

(Acenocoumarol=Sintrom et Phenprocoumone=Marcoumar).

Dosage

Variable from one individual to another. Aiming an INR of 2 to 3. TP between 25 and 35%.

Contra-indications

  • Known hypersensitivity to acenocoumarol or coumarin derivatives.
  • Pregnancy.
  • Lack of cooperation from the patient (eg unsupervised and senile patients, alcoholics and people with psychiatric disorders.).
  • Medical conditions for which the danger of bleeding outweighs the anticipated clinical benefit.
